Going Sane in a Crazy World

My journey through life and the lessons I learn to help me grow spiritually.

Sane Friends

In My Dreams - Tricia

This time around I drop down out of my usual gaggle of 40's beauties. However Tricia Helfer is too attractive to pass up. For the non geeks out there, she played Caprica 6 on the new Battlestar Galactica. While on the show she was a platinum blond which I wasn't to crazy about. I like her better as a brunette.

Weekend Adventure

One thing I do miss when I'm with Eric is my quiet time. With every 45 seconds out of 60 consumed by chatter about Pokemon or Disney Channel. I feel the stress. I do enjoy my son, but this is my hardship with him.

Anyway I survived my trip to NYC. The bus rides were a bit bumpy. My pickup bus had a flat tire and ended up leaving 2 hours later. Besides that it was uneventful. I got to walk around Chinatown and Tribeca. I already have my routine down of grabbing and egg sandwich at a deli and watching the Chinese exercise at the park. Then I walked deeper into Chinatown than last time and I was to find the Comic some slippers to replace the smelly ones from China. These were only $5. I could have saved myself so much money. Next time there I'll look around for some stuff for me.

The subway worked like a charm and was so much cheaper than the taxi. It was Eric's first time on a subway and he enjoyed it. At first he was apprehensive, but now he's looking forward to going on it again. Our ride back on the bus was rough. We had two Chinese guys behind us chatting the whole 7 hours very loudly.

Eric and Winegirl's dog Cricket have bonded very well. Yesterday we got to do a golf ball hunt in the backyard which revealed 15 balls. There were a few others, but we didn't feel like digging in the bushes for them.

I was very happy yesterday when Eric wanted to go on the ferry. I've wanted to ride the one here for years, but no one has wanted to. He really enjoyed it like I did. Then we went over to the Nauticus museum to see everything.Today has been a day around the office. I have to admit when he's here the phone rings more than normal. He did get to meet the Comic today for a few seconds. I saw a cheap dresser for her new grandson so I picked it up for her. However it was too big for my car so she had to come pick it up from us. Now it's off to another adventure.

Dead Dog

As you can see I have a dead dog in my place. This is Cricket who lives with me. She loves having her belly rubbed and will lie in front of you like this in hopes of a belly rub. She was lying like this for 10 minutes before this picture was taken.

I'm counting down to my bus ride to NY. I have one more patient then I'm heading home for a quick dinner and sleep. I'll probably get up at 10 to finish getting ready to go. I'm hoping to sleep some on the trip, but I'm not hopeful. I did grab a massage with MT to help keep me in shape since OVDC is on vacation this week and I can't get my weekly adjustment.

The Comic became a grandmother again last night when her oldest boy had a son. Both mother and baby are doing well.

I'm having to get use to my Blackberry all over again since now it's a blueberry. I got a new blue cover since the damaged one I replaced it with was a bit used. It's nice to see it all nice and shiny, just like it was out of the box. Well at least out of the envelope from China.

I'll try to keep everyone updated on my time with Eric, but since I have limited office hours. I won't be around the computer that much.

Games People Play

I have to admit I enjoy having the Comic over to my place. We make a good team in making dinner. Last night I was cooking ginger chicken and she helped. Boy can that woman cut up meat. She said she would cut the chicken up. I turned around to take care of the broccoli and when I turned around it was all in nice cubes. I think she may of had it stored in her pocket to fool me. Anyway I could tell she enjoyed the finished meal since she devoured it quickly leaving me eating mine for quite some time. We then tag teamed the clean up and it was done pretty darn fast. The rest of the night we spent playing board games. I taught her how to play Pente and Othello. She enjoyed both, but I kicked her ass in both. This made up for the night before when she was queen of Sequence. I tell you when we're in our little bubble of just the two of us life is grand. Her family invaded a few times with news they wanted her to tell everyone else with. I suggested she just text them back that your phone was dying and couldn't do it. She loved that and it worked like a charm.

This morning also marked the last time I'll see the Comic for a while since Eric will be here all next week. We're going to miss each other. However we have scattered plans till the end of the year of things and parties we are attending.

I'm gearing up for Eric's visit. I'm planning on sleeping before I get on the bus since I'm not able to sleep on it. If I do conk out it, great. If not, I already got some sleep. Hopefully their will be no bus or subway troubles this time. Food shopping was done today. Buying a different line of food just for Eric is a bit of a pain since space is limited in the pantry. Hopefully his palate has grown in the last month.

The Boot

Welcome to post 1701. I've made some changes to the place if you haven't been here since yesterday. I found out that blogger now allows you to add pages to your blog. It's not just for Wordpress anymore. If this option has been around for a while don't bust my bubble. Anyway I rearranged my blog to make some pages. The only problem is that they are so small, I doubt if anyone will every find them.

Anyway it's been a day of saying good by to AOL and saying hi to aol.com. For some of you this may sound like gibberish, but I'm now accessing my AOL from Firefox to keep my computer running faster and to use many programs instead of bouncing them back and forth. I can finally use my Outlook to write and send email. It's taking a lot of time since I have a lot of stuffed saved on AOL from many years of using it.

I'm starting to get tired of this daily new patient I have scheduled and them not showing up. Gets old really fast let me tell you. I may have to track them down and egg their house or something.

In a freak tie clip accident yesterday I lost a piece of my finger tip. Okay at least several layers of skin. I'm not quite sure how it was happening. I was just taking them out of the back they were shipped in when I was wondering what this liquid was all over them. It took me a while to realize it was my own blood. Oh well.

In My Dreams - Liz

This week's segment of In Your Dreams is dedicated to the spanking queen herself - Liz Hurley. While I rarely see her in a movie that I watch when I do see her I'm always like wow. Liz is also a great representation of these actresses who have aged wonderfully. I don't see the Britney's and Lindsey's doing so well 5 years from now. Forget about 20.

Weighing My Options

Wow 4 days without an entry. That's a long time for me, but it was for a good cause. I finally got my laptop back yesterday and it's a lot quicker. I had gotten use to the 5-10 minute wait to load up. Now its back to a minute or two. I'm very happy.

Anyway today I'm measuring out my Mom to send most of the ashes to my brother. I was surprised. While it's a very fine powder it's not light and doesn't make a mess which I'm very happy with. I kept a few scoops for myself and will take care of it one of these days. Since I don't seem to have a fire under my ass, I guess its not time to do it.

One of the things I really enjoyed about the weekend was sleeping in Saturday. While I sleep at my place half the week, I get up an go. To just lie around and then get some breakfast and sit was a nice change. Yesterday the Comic and I christened the grill with some steaks. We were domesticated and cooked together which was fun.

While I'm enjoying my time with her I'm seeing things that will probably become problems in the future. They bother me know mildly. We've talked about them. The Comic likes talking about it, but I don't know if she has what it takes to change. Most of the issues come from low self esteem which I know very well. So I don't enjoy how she will put her self down or self care. Like most things in the short term they are minor, but over decades these become major problems for me. Like all things time will tell if she really wants to change and all the question asking is part of it.

If It's Too Hot in the Kitchen

Well with a few changes at the end, my presentation on Stress Management went well. I had 20 people show up. 2 of which I have no idea how they got invited, but they want to become patients. Either way I don't mind. The only problem was that their AC broke and I was upstairs. Damn physics with its heat rising rule. It was hot, but bearable. My sponsors had goody bags made up from the Dollar store which gave the table a nice colorful look. Everyone enjoyed themselves for which I was happy. I gave everyone choices for next time around and I'm going to do one on sleep next month.

I arrived home last night to find that the Dude had moved out. No biggie. Winegirl emailed me to let me know her old friend was moving back in. He had gotten a place for awhile that was free rent so he took it. Now that it's over he's coming back. She says he's a better fit which will be good.

The Comic is under stress today. Her aunt is having surgery to have a large cancer removed from her which they found has metastasized. They want to do chemo, but she's 88 with Alzheimer's. Not quite sure if it's worth all the stress it will put on the woman. The Comic also found out that her mom's aneurysm has grown and she needs surgery. Hopefully they can do it up through the groin. Not quite sure how she will be if they have to cut her open. I know the Comic is worried after just losing her dad in May.

I'll probably start doing some research for myself to do a personal service for my Mom down at the beach. I have the music picked out, but want to have some kind of order. So Google will have something for me.

Way Behind

I used to think, "man these people don't write enough entries." Jeez since Eric's last visit I don't seem to be able to catch up with everyone on my Google reader. What happened? I tell you what has happened is that it doesn't bother me that I have entries unread. I can get a bit anal about that, but week after week of things still being there have broken me of it.

Well I'm patiently waiting to leave to go do my presentation on Stress Management tonight. It's a sold out house of 21. I'm hoping the Mexican place got my instructions correct. No offense, but everyone there doesn't have great English so I worry. However I'll get there early to make sure.

It's been a mildly bumpy day here. Everyone that I normally talk to is in crisis mode today so I haven't been able to share my stuff, but on a positive note that means I'm doing pretty well with not much going on. Hey maybe I'll throw that in the presentation tonight.

I went to see my first 3D movie last night. It was Shrek 4 which I enjoyed. I was very impressed with the 3D. It was leaps and bounds over the red and green glasses. I have to admit I even flinched a couple of times. However after the movie. Oh did my brain hurt for a good long while. I'm not quite sure why, but 3D played havoc with me.

A New Skill

Well I learned a new skill over the weekend. How to take a part and put back together a Blackberry. I awoke yesterday and looked at my phone to find the screen broken. I was surprised since it was still sitting on the dresser. When I mentioned it to the Comic she was very upset. She had knocked it during the night and didn't know it had broken. I wasn't to upset. I just did a Google search on replacement parts since I knew Sprint would ass rape me to repair it. Luckily the Comic had a dead Blackberry which she offered for parts. The problem was that it was pink. However her working one was red like mine. So I took apart 3 Blackberries to make two new ones. Mine is fully functional and looking good. The Comic has a nice pink one that she likes and I have something else to put on my resume.

The emotional drain I'm feeling is still pretty high. There are times that my body is good, but it feels like a shade has been pulled over my brain. I'm not liking it. Today I did drag my ass to the gym to get back in the swing of things there.

The weekend with the Comic went very well. We spent time with her mom and sister playing cards Saturday. Then I made her dinner and I we watched Bolt. The Comic loved it which made me happy since I liked it a lot. Yesterday we went to my storage unit and cleaned that up. I can't believe how much stuff was tossed out and that I still have stuff in there.

Their is possible change happening at my home front. The Dude and Winegirl got in an argument the other night with him saying he was moving out. He's 27 and wants to use the place as a dorm party place almost. It's not going over well with Winegirl. I don't care whether he stays or goes, just as long as there is order. However it is another change in my fragile ecosystem and it's playing rough on me.
