Well I got the invite for the big event next week. I have one question. What the hell is classy casual or tropical dress up? To me they sound like fruity drinks not the attire I'm suppose to be wearing. Any suggestions ladies?

Too Much Swag and Sadness

4 people had cathartic therapy:
To me tropical dress up is any shirt with a pineapple or parrot on it & bermuda shorts. I've also seen puka shell necklaces. They do not amuse me. I would not go to a big event in that.
Classy casual; designer wear from the casual collection. Even Brook Brothers has a nice classy casual(though not called that) section, which is not too expensive. Or a nice tailored linen shirt with a complimenting pant. ~Mary
Hi Mike,
I know you only asked the ladies for advice but I'm going to chime in anyway. Don't do the "tropical dress up." It would be a big mistake in my opinion. I think "Classy Casual" is just another way of saying "Business Casual" and you have a lot of leeway there. Khakis, a nice shirt and sweater or blazer and a pair of loafers would be fine. No tie.
Best,
Marty
